Dublin born Arthur Cossar started his maritime career in 1906, and joined Clan Line in 1911. In a distiguished career, he rescued 68 castaways from a deserted island, participated in Operation Pedestal during WW2, then became a PoW, and finally Commodore of the Clan Line in 1952.
